
MOTHERLAND: THE ANTHOLOGY
MOTHERLAND is a digital anthology curated by and for BIPOC artists and writers who identify as part of an ethnic or cultural diaspora.
The publication is sponsored by the Asian American Progressive Student Union as well as The Empowerment Paper. We accept submissions of creative writing, visual art and photography.
Submissions to the anthology will be open from:
February 1st to March 22nd, 2024.
Writers and artists can expect to receive an emailed response by late March. Simultaneous submissions and previously published works of art and literature are welcome as long as the original creator still maintains all rights to their work.
Available Mediums
We currently accept three forms of art:
Creative Writing
Micro-fiction (work between 100 and 400 words)
Flash Fiction (work between 400 and 1000 words)
Short Stories (work between 1000 and 3000 words)
Creative Nonfiction and Essays (work between 1000 and 3000 words)
Poetry (work between 10 and 40 lines)
Visual Art
Photography
You may submit up to three times in each category.
You may submit up to two times in each creative writing sub-category.
Submissions containing content that falls into more than one category are admissible.

HOW TO SUBMIT
Email asianamericanPSU@gmail.com using the subject line: MOTHERLAND: [Insert genre or medium] Submission.
Include a third person bio to be published in the digital anthology along with your work.
Please attach your work as a separate file. Do not include your name anywhere on the attached file.
If your work has been previously published, you must state which publications it can be found in.
